Background
This section provides access to all relevant SSAP-RED documents. They outline the responsibilities of system users and certification bodies, and describe the procedures and criteria applied during audits. These documents are made publicly available to ensure transparency and to support Certification Bodies, auditors, and system users in applying the SSAP-RED requirements consistently.
SSAP-RED Protocol
The SSAP-RED Protocol sets out the requirements and procedures needed to demonstrate compliance with the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED). It ensures that U.S. soybeans are produced sustainably and in line with both RED criteria and U.S. regulations. This voluntary scheme enables certified soybeans to be used as RED-compliant feedstock for biomass, bioliquids, and biofuels.
SSAP-RED Governance Structure
The SSAP-RED Governance Scheme outlines how the SSAP-RED program is managed, monitored, and continuously improved. It defines the roles and responsibilities to ensure credible, transparent, and consistent implementation of the SSAP-RED requirements. This document is intended for SSAP-RED system users, certification bodies, auditors, and regulatory stakeholders seeking clarity on the scheme’s governance structure, decision-making processes, internal monitoring, and reporting obligations.
SSAP-RED Audit Procedures
The SSAP-RED Audit Procedures contain the checklists and guidance used by auditors to assess compliance with the SSAP-RED scheme. They ensure a uniform and reliable audit process for both chain-of-custody (COC) and farm-level verification.
